Hi all!
My apologies for not being diligent with my monthly updates! A lot is happening over here and God has been really good!
First of all, Grace Ng has arrived three weeks ago from Vancouver! It’s been SUCH a blessing to have a sister from back home join me. God has provided a steady job and a new apartment and roommate for her! I’ll leave the rest for her to share… please pray that God will guide her to the ministries He wants her to be, and for a smooth adjustment to living in Taiwan!
At my apartment, we’ve recently started an Alpha course on Sunday afternoons. Stephen, Ansy and I (fellow Partners AND co-workers) were really excited in bringing our Taiwanese co-workers to the gathering. However, none of our co-workers have been coming, and the number of attendance has been very low. We’re giving it one more Sunday before we decide whether to discontinue the course or not. Please pray for God’s guidance! And pray that people will come this Sunday and commit themselves to the Alpha course.
On the other hand, the Wednesday night Bible Study has been going great! We finally finished our study on Proverbs and moved on to a new study guide. Attendance has been great, and the group members are all becoming closer friends. Tomorrow we’re going to KTV (Taiwanese karaoke) to celebrate the completion of the book of Proverbs! On top of that, Jason Wang has accepted Christ a few weeks ago! If you remember him from my previous updates, Jason has been regularly attending the New Life Bilingual Church and the Wednesday night Bible Study. He believes in what the Bible said about Jesus, but was not ready to commit himself to following Christ due to his mother’s opposition. However, God has been convicting him recently and he finally surrendered his life to Christ! It was a joyous moment! Please pray that Jason will continue to grow and be strong in God. May God give him wisdom with his relationship with his mother, who doesn’t know that Jason has finally committed himself to Christ. And may his mother also see God through her son.
For myself, things have been really good! Although with Grace’s arrival (and all the care packages she came with), it made me miss home a lot! Pray that home will not distract me from my ministries here, and that I will use my time wisely (i.e. preparing for worship, spending time with God).

This is what we usually do after Partners Meeting.... crash at somebody's house (this time it was Ansy's and my place) and go online until we all have to go to work at 4pm.
It was 10/10 last Saturday (Taiwan Day), and a group of us from the Tuesday night Bible Study went on a one-day scooter trip up to Tainan!
This was one of the temples we stopped at in Tainan.
One of the many "wishing plaques" that were hung around the temple.

Hi Iris, I'm back here writing on your blog. I did noticed before how you haven't updated urself here. I noticed that Grace has been writing on her status on facebook, which I believe she's working now.
ReplyDeleteI'm actually happy you're still missing ppl here. I was scared you wouldn't be thinking of us, since you have new friends now.
